A few of you have written and asked whether anything was going on with me, as I hadn’t blogged in a while (almost a month). Yes, things have been happening, and I’ve just been overwhelmed, to be honest. But I thought I’d take a moment to update those few souls who might be interested.
My company is funded through angel investment. For two-and-a-half years, this worked fine. Then the economy tanked, and for about a year it’s been pretty rough. Now we’re in a very rough patch and it is tough on me and my wife.
I lived in two places. My beautiful wife stayed in our house in Pittsburgh while I rented an apartment in Mesa, AZ. Well, we couldn’t do that any longer and in late June I moved back to Pittsburgh and am working from there.
I am looking for work while I continue to support the product. Most of the product’s developers are in the same boat, trying to survive until the next round of funding arrives.
There are readers of this blog who have it worse than I, mind. But for my wife and I it has been very rough.
Thanks for reading the blog. I appreciate each and every one of you, believe me.

Very sorry to hear of this Chris. I have sent you an e-mail. I wish to help in any way that I can!
Hang in there Chris, although a lot of us are going through the same thing it doesn’t help your situation, just know you are not alone. If there is anyway I can help let me know. (to bad I shoot Nikon). Right outlook, and it is all temporary, things will get better or take a new direction. One door closes, another opens, cliche I know, but true.
Hang tight, my friend. Seems like a good many of us are going through some rough patches. I’d hate to see you part with your gear but you’re a good man to even consider it. I’ll keep my eyes open for you…

Chris,
Hi and sorry to hear of your dilemma. Perhaps you could post your list of gear at Markus’ Street Photography Watercooler. You might pick up some interest there.
I wish I could do something to help in these straitened times, but unfortunately, photographic equipment is not high on my budget list at the moment.
Best wishes
Phill
Hi Chris. The best of luck weathering the storm. I too know the heartache of being away from your wife to keep things rolling along. If I hear of any contract work I will be sure to pass it along to you.
I am so sorry to hear your bad news. I know this will be a stressful period and those things take a toll on us. I trust that you and your wife will take very good care of one another—that will go a long way. I also know from your writing here that you are a skilled and resourceful guy. You will find your way. Just don’t let the physical toll of this cost you too much.
Oh, this was sad news. Sad that your company not shows positive figures and sad how this affects you, your friends/colleagues and your family. You’re doing the right thing selling off your stuff, you can always get new when times looks brighter. I hope it works out well, my very best wishes also from me.
Thanks to all of you. Thank you very much.
